Ride Ethos

It is important for people contemplating riding with the Wednesday & Sunday Groups, to understand what we are about - which is safety, fun, improving fitness and comradeship.

Group riding is about learning/experiencing riding with other cyclists all around you.

If you are looking for ultra competitive riding and racing, there are other groups that would better suit your needs. We suggest riders who want to go quicker, to do so in the last third of the ride on the way home, but you must let others know your intentions! "Communication is the key"

Also, please don't leave anyone stranded and out there on their own.

Wednesday Ride

We are currently running a Wednesday winter ride. Meet at the Matamata Primary School flagpole at 3:30pm sharp. The ride route and groups will be determined on the day. You must have a rear light as a minimum but we strongly advise that you have both a front light and a rear light. We will return to town before it gets too dark.

Sunday Ride

The Sunday morning rides leave from Tainui Press, 7 Short Street starting at 9:30am. Please be there 5 minutes before the ride is due to start for a quick ride briefing prior to departure. Please refer to the Location Maps page for the start location.
