Our Ride Ethos - We're all about safety, fun, improving fitness and comradeship. Group riding is about learning/experiencing riding with other cyclists around you.
If you are looking for ultra competitive riding and racing, there are probably other groups that would better suit your needs, but please get in touch to discuss what you're after. During the last third of the ride, some riders may wish to increase tempo, but no-one will be left to ride home alone (unless they are winning!!).
Wednesday Rides
PEDDLERS' WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON ROAD RIDE - START TIME NOW 3:00PM
With the change away from Daylight Saving, the Wednesday evening rides now leave from outside the Catholic Church the corner of Hohaia and Tawa streets, in order to avoid the 3pm school traffic. The ride route and groups will be determined on the day. You must have a rear light as a minimum but we strongly advise that you have both front rear. We'll be back in town before it gets too dark.

PEDDLERS' TRAIL DAY - Papamoa
START TIME 10:00AM
Our monthly trail ride takes us over the Kaimais this week (by car - don't panic!). Meet at the Papamoa Domain opposite 562 Papamoa Beach Road to be ready for a 10am start. We will go from there down Domain Road, onto the cycle track and follow this, then with a few sidetracks, link onto the cycleway which runs alongside the expressway towards Paengaroa/Maketu. This is a very family friendly ride and almost entirely flat, so will suit all levels of rider. This will be a "there and back" ride and once we are back at the Papamoa Domain we can have a bite to eat and drink from the local bakery/cafe, or you can bring your own. Robyn & Henry have kindly offered to open the doors to a relative's beach house for us to enjoy as our "Peddlers Cafe". (Approx. 20km each way)
Those who would rather stay home and challenge the dark lands of Mordor, join us (hobbits welcome)......
PEDDLERS' ROAD RIDE - MATAMATA
******START TIME NOW 9:30AM******
The Dragon's Bite
Winter is coming. No, wait, wrong pop culture reference. Not saying there hasn't been any brother/sister love on Buckland Road, just that I was supposed to be doing Lord of the Rings, not Game of Thrones. Sorry about that, got mixed up. Anyway, Return to Torturoa where Mt Doom awaits and many a precious ring has been burnt. Meander home past Hobbiton, where the tourists did frolic before the Covid dragon laid waste unto Middle Earth. Personally, I will be utilising my One Ring and its power of invisibility, so you won't see me Sunday
