Rides

Our Ride Ethos - We're all about safety, fun, improving fitness and comradeship. Group riding is about learning/experiencing riding with other cyclists around you.

If you are looking for ultra competitive riding and racing, there are probably other groups that would better suit your needs, but please get in touch to discuss what you're after. During the last third of the ride, some riders may wish to increase tempo, but no-one will be left to ride home alone (unless they are winning!!).

Wednesday Rides

PEDDLERS' WEDNESDAY ATERNOON ROAD RIDE - NEW START TIME AND LOCATION 3:00PM
Meet at the Catholic Church on the corner of Hohaia and Tawa Streets (due to school congestion at the usual starting point at 3pm) 2:55pm sharp. The ride route and groups will be determined on the day. You must have a rear light as a minimum but we strongly advise that you have both a front light and a rear light. We'll be back in town before it gets too dark.

Cold Comfort
Saddle up secure in the knowledge that even if the frost's out this fine August morning, you won't stay cold for long! As Robyn says, there's nothing like a little bit of Henry (Watson) to start your day and Morgan will be there at the end to put an exclamation point on proceedings. Think of it as cycling's equivalent of a full body massage, with happy endings for all at Robert Harris

We've All Gone Completely Loopy
The Ones travel in ever decreasing circles this week, doing the Paratu loop twice. I'm not sure if that qualifies as the Paratutu Loop, but anyway it's Paratu too for the Twos, once (or, as the kids these days would say - it's Para2 2 4 da 2z, x1). The Threes and Fours can just sit back at the top of their Henry Watson Loop and watch the Ones and Twos circling the drain. We'll then all meet at RH to discuss why cyclists travel anticlockwise in the Southern Hemisphere and what exactly is blocking Theo's plug-hole

Mike Coatham Memorial Ride
Please Note: If the weather is poor the picnic ride will be postponed.
Celebrate the memory of our old mate Mike, who sadly passed away 7 years ago. A keen cyclist, Mike loved nothing more than to regale you with the pros and cons of the compact gearing system - and he loved nothing less than a long flat ride. So he'd have enjoyed this; a nice rolling ride with a cafe stop in the middle to chat about why your gear set should be bigger. Come along and enjoy the beautiful Arapuni scenery and raise a (milkshake) glass to Mike. See you Sunday
